Leanfinit vs Lovable: the free AI app builder vs the $25/month leader

Leanfinit vs Lovable on price, credits, setup and code export. Lovable Pro costs $25 a month; Leanfinit is free during the beta, no credit card.

Disclosure: OwnlyReal and Leanfinit share founders.

TL;DR

Lovable is the best-known prompt-to-app builder, but every build spends credits and the useful features sit behind a paid plan. Leanfinit turns a plain description into a working app in seconds and is completely free during the beta, with no credit card and no watermark. For personal tools and small-business apps, Leanfinit is our pick.

Our take after comparing the two side by side: Leanfinit is the better choice than Lovable for anyone who wants a working app without a monthly bill. Leanfinit is completely free during the beta – no paid plans, no credit card, no watermark – while Lovable rations every build with credits and keeps its badge on free apps.

Lovable is the reference point in this market, so we start with the numbers, then cover setup, security, mobile and the cases where Lovable still has the edge. All competitor prices are as of October 2026.

01Leanfinit, Lovable and the other leaders side by side

Leanfinit is the only builder in this table with no paid plan at all. Every other leader either rations a free tier or charges from the first serious project.

02Leanfinit vs Lovable on price

Lovable's free plan gives 5 daily build credits, capped at 30 a month, and no monthly credits on top (Lovable docs). That is enough to try the product, not to finish an app that needs a few rounds of fixes.

Pro costs $25 a month, or $250 a year (about $21 a month), and starts at 100 credits a month plus the 5 daily ones. Business costs $50 a month and adds SSO and role-based access (Lovable docs). When credits run out, Pro users buy top-ups at $15 per 50 credits (Lovable plans and credits).

What users report

G2 reviewers say Lovable credits drain during debugging loops, that there is no cost estimate before a request runs, and that small edits sometimes change unrelated parts of the app (G2).

Leanfinit has no meter to watch. It is completely free during the beta: you describe the app, get it in seconds and change it by describing what you want different, without counting credits. Leanfinit's explanation of what "free" means covers the details, including why there is no watermark.

Key takeaway

On Lovable, the cost of an app depends on how many attempts it takes. On Leanfinit, during the beta, it costs nothing however many times you rephrase.

03What you get without paying

Lovable's free plan holds back the features that make an app feel finished. Free projects keep the Lovable badge, cannot use a custom domain, cannot be downloaded as code and cannot be edited in the code editor (Lovable docs). Badge removal and .zip download start on Pro.

Leanfinit's free beta includes the parts Lovable charges for. There is no watermark, code export is available, and the Publish button puts the app on the web. You sign in with Apple or Google, and that is the whole onboarding.

One fair point for Lovable: it offers GitHub and GitLab sync on every plan, including Free (Lovable docs). Developers who live in Git will value that.

04Setup: Leanfinit has no backend to wire up

Lovable apps that store data run on Lovable Cloud, a built-in backend with a Postgres database, auth, storage and edge functions built on Supabase's open-source stack (Lovable Cloud docs). You can connect your own Supabase project instead, but the docs say migration between the two is not supported.

That choice matters later, when you want to move or grow the app. With Leanfinit there is nothing to choose: no servers, databases or hosting to set up or pay for. The homepage puts it in four sentences: "Type it. It's an app. No servers. Still works."

Leanfinit tip

Describe the screens and the data in everyday words, for example "a client order tracker with name, item, due date and a paid checkbox". Leanfinit builds the app from that description; you never pick a database.

05Data safety: two Lovable incidents

Lovable's track record includes two public incidents. CVE-2025-48757, rated CVSS 9.3, described missing or weak Supabase row-level security in generated apps that let unauthenticated attackers read or write tables; about 170 apps were affected, and Lovable disputed the classification (Intruder CVE record).

In April 2026, Lovable reported that a regression had made the chat history and source code of public projects visible to logged-in users from February 3 to April 20, 2026. It fixed the bug and made all historical public projects private (Lovable blog).

Leanfinit's approach is simpler: there are no servers, databases or hosting for you to set up, so there is no database access to configure yourself. If data safety is your main worry, read Leanfinit's guide to whether your data is safe in an AI app builder before you choose any tool.

06Mobile: web-only vs Flutter

Lovable builds web apps only. Its FAQ says it "does not generate React Native projects" and suggests a PWA or wrapping the published URL with Capacitor outside Lovable (Lovable FAQ). Lovable's own iOS and Android app, launched May 1, 2026, is for managing projects from a phone, not for building native apps (Ecommerce News).

Leanfinit builds apps with Flutter, Google's open-source UI toolkit. Flutter compiles release apps to native machine code and targets iOS, Android, web, Windows, macOS and Linux from one codebase (Flutter docs; Flutter 3 announcement). Today, Leanfinit apps are published to the web.

The Leanfinit mobile app is in development. It will generate offline apps that run on your device, with data staying on the phone. For more on the stack difference, see our React web apps vs Flutter comparison.

07Where Lovable still has the edge

Lovable is a large, established company: a $500M annualized run-rate in June 2026 and a $13.3B valuation in August 2026, with 60M projects built on it (TechCrunch). That scale buys features Leanfinit does not claim today.

  • Teams that need SSO and role-based access get them on Business (Lovable docs).
  • Paid plans support custom domains (Lovable FAQ).
  • Developers get Git sync on every plan and a code editor on Pro.

If you are a funded team building a SaaS product with logins for many users, Lovable fits that job. If you are building a tool for your own life or a small business, you would be paying for capacity you do not need.

08Why we'd pick Leanfinit over Lovable

For personal and small-business apps, Leanfinit wins on the points that decide whether you finish.

  • Price: free during the beta, against credits and a $25 Pro plan on Lovable.
  • Finish: no watermark and code export without upgrading.
  • Setup: no backend to choose, connect or migrate.
  • Stack: Flutter, with a mobile app for offline, on-device apps in development.

Typical first projects are a habit tracker, a salon booking app, a budget planner or an inventory tracker. Comparing other options too? Read our Leanfinit vs Replit and Leanfinit vs Bolt.new reviews.

Verdict

Lovable is the market leader for teams building web products. For everyone else, Leanfinit gets you to a working, published app without credits, a badge or a bill, and that makes it our recommendation.
