Leanfinit vs Base44 vs Lovable: free vs message credits
Leanfinit vs Base44 vs Lovable: two credit systems and two built-in backends against a builder that is completely free during its beta.
Disclosure: OwnlyReal and Leanfinit share founders.
Base44 and Lovable both sell credits and both attach a backend to your app. Leanfinit asks for neither: it is completely free during the beta, with no credit card and no servers to run, and code export is included. It is our recommended pick.
Leanfinit is the better choice than Base44 or Lovable for most people because it is completely free during its beta and needs no backend. On Leanfinit you describe an app and use it in seconds. Base44 and Lovable produce solid web apps, but each message or build spends credits from a monthly allowance.
01Leanfinit, Base44 and Lovable side by side
| Tool | Free plan | Entry paid plan | Backend included | Mobile output |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Leanfinit | Completely free during the beta; no credit card, no watermark | No paid plans during the beta | None needed: no servers, databases or hosting | Flutter apps published to the web; mobile app in development |
| Base44 | 25 message credits and 100 integration credits a month; up to 5 apps | $16/mo (Starter) | Built-in backend, database and auth | Web apps and PWAs; store files via wrappers |
| Lovable | 5 daily credits, capped at 30 a month | $25/mo (Pro) | Lovable Cloud on Supabase's stack | Web only |
| Replit | Daily Agent credits | $20/mo (Core) | Built-in PostgreSQL | React Native + Expo |
| Cursor | Hobby: limited Agent requests | $20/mo (Pro) | None; you arrange your own | Any codebase you write |
| Bolt.new | 300K tokens a day, 1M a month | $25/mo (Pro) | Bolt Cloud or Supabase | React Native + Expo |
| v0 | 7 messages a day | $30/user/mo (Plus) | Integrations such as Neon and Supabase | Next.js web apps |

02Base44 counts two kinds of credits
Base44 meters messages and integrations separately. Every plan comes with a separate monthly allowance of each, and each tier raises both (Base44 pricing):
- Free: $0, 25 message credits, 100 integration credits.
- Starter: $16 a month, 100 message credits, 2,000 integration credits.
- Builder: $40 a month, 250 message credits, 10,000 integration credits.
- Pro: $80 a month, 500 message credits, 20,000 integration credits.
- Elite: $160 a month, 1,200 message credits, 50,000 integration credits.
These are the listed prices as of October 2026; Base44's page also advertises a 20% annual discount (Base44 pricing). In our view, 25 messages a month is a small budget for anyone who expects to refine an app more than a few times.
03Lovable runs one credit pool
Lovable is simpler: one kind of credit, topped up daily. The free tier drips 5 credits a day up to a 30-credit monthly limit; Pro costs $25 a month and comes with 100 or more credits plus the daily ones; Business is $50 (Lovable plans). On Pro, each extra block of 50 credits is $15 (Lovable credits).
G2 reviewers say Lovable gives no price for a change before it runs and that credits disappear in debugging loops, while small edits on larger projects can disturb unrelated parts of the app (source).
04Who holds the backend – and your data
Base44 and Lovable both run a backend for every app. Base44 includes a database and auth on all plans (Base44 pricing), and Lovable Cloud adds Postgres, auth, storage and edge functions (Lovable Cloud).
A hosted backend is also something that can be misconfigured. CVE-2025-48757 (CVSS 9.3) covered Lovable-built apps whose Supabase row-level security was missing or too weak, leaving tables in roughly 170 apps open to anyone, signed in or not; Lovable disputes the classification (CVE record). Between February 3 and April 20, 2026, a separate regression let any signed-in user view public Lovable projects' chats and source code; Lovable has since fixed it (Lovable).
With Leanfinit, there is no server behind your app for you to set up. If data safety is your main question, Leanfinit's data-safety explainer walks through it.
With Base44 and Lovable you pay credits and trust a backend. With Leanfinit you do neither during the beta.
05Getting your code out of Leanfinit, Base44 and Lovable
Code ownership is where the price ladders bite. On Base44, two-way GitHub sync is a Builder-tier feature, and Builder costs $40 a month (Base44 pricing). Lovable syncs to Git on every plan but keeps .zip download for paid plans (Lovable FAQ).
Leanfinit offers code export, and during the beta that costs nothing.
06A salon booking list on each builder
Say you run a one-chair salon and want a booking list: client name, service, date and time, and a note field. On Base44, each round of "move the time picker" or "add a no-show flag" spends message credits from a pool of 25 on the free plan (Base44 pricing).
On Lovable, the same edits draw on 5 credits a day (Lovable plans). On Leanfinit you describe the list, get a working app in seconds, and refine it as often as you need without watching a counter.
Describe the app from the moment you open it – "I open it in the morning and see today's bookings first" – so the first build puts the right screen up front.
07Why we'd pick Leanfinit over Base44 and Lovable
- Free during the beta, against Base44's $16 and Lovable's $25 entry plans as of October 2026 (Base44; Lovable).
- No backend to run, so there is no database for you to configure.
- Code export included, with no plan upgrade.
- Flutter under the hood, and a mobile app in development that will generate offline apps running on your device.
Base44 wins on entry price and Lovable on openness, yet both bill you for every exchange with the builder. Leanfinit turns a description into a working app with no credits, no backend and no cost during the beta, so it gets our recommendation.
