02Base44's credit ladder, plan by plan
Base44 sells two kinds of credits: message credits for talking to the AI, and integration credits. Here is the full ladder from the Base44 pricing page, as of October 2026:
| Base44 plan | Price per month | Message credits | Integration credits | Notable extras |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | 25 | 100 | Up to 5 apps |
| Starter | $16 | 100 | 2,000 | Custom domain |
| Builder | $40 | 250 | 10,000 | GitHub integration |
| Pro | $80 | 500 | 20,000 | – |
| Elite | $160 | 1,200 | 50,000 | – |
The page says annual billing saves 20%, but it shows the same per-month figures for both options, so it is not clear whether these are monthly or annual-equivalent prices. Check the toggle before you pay.
On Starter, Builder and Pro, each message credit works out to $0.16; on Elite, about $0.13. Every rewrite, fix and "try again" draws from that balance.
03What 25 free credits buy on Base44
Twenty-five messages a month is enough to try Base44, not to finish much. A small app usually needs a first description and then rounds of changes, and every message draws on that allowance.
Base44 does include a backend, database and auth on every plan, which is useful. But two-way GitHub sync only arrives on Builder at $40 a month, so getting your code out has a price as well.
Credit-metered builders share a pattern in reviews – credits drain while the AI fixes its own mistakes. G2 reviewers of Lovable, a similar credit-based tool, describe exactly that during debugging loops (source).
04Leanfinit vs Base44 on price: no credits at all
Leanfinit doesn't count messages during the beta. You describe the app in plain words, get a working app in seconds, and edit it by describing changes as often as you need, at $0.
There are no servers, databases or hosting to set up or pay for, and you publish to the web with one Publish button. Code export is available without a $40 upgrade, and there is no watermark.
For a small business app, start with the list you check most – for example "cake orders with customer, flavor, pickup date and paid or not." Leanfinit's example of a cake order tracker for a home bakery shows how much one description can cover.

05Web apps, mobile and where Leanfinit is heading
Base44 builds web apps and PWAs, not native apps. Its docs say the editor can prepare store files using wrappers such as Capacitor, with native features like push notifications set up separately.
Leanfinit takes a different route: it builds apps with Flutter, and today you publish them to the web in one click. A Leanfinit mobile app is in development – when it launches, it will generate offline apps that run on your phone and keep your data on it.
06Base44 is a fast-growing leader – Leanfinit is the free one
Base44 is no small player. Wix bought it in June 2025 for about $92 million including earnouts, and it reached about $150 million ARR by May 2026.
That growth is built on credits. For a salon booking app, an inventory tracker or a schedule manager, Leanfinit gives you the same describe-and-use workflow without the ladder.

07Why we'd pick Leanfinit over Base44 on price
Base44's cheapest plan is cheaper than most leaders, but Leanfinit's is cheaper still: $0 during the beta. No message credits, no integration credits, no upgrade for code.
If you want an app without budgeting messages, Leanfinit is our recommendation. Consider Base44 if you need its built-in auth and database today and are comfortable paying per message.
